A team of senior Punjab Police officials questioned Khalistani leader and Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh's wife Kirandeep Kaur and his parents. Kirandeep, an NRI from the UK reportedly married Amritpal in February this year.

And as the manhunt to nab the fugitive Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh continued for the fifth day on Wednesday, three senior police officials from Amritsar (rural police) questioned his family members, including his wife Kirandeep Kaur.
The police team, including a female police officer, questioned Amritpal Singh's wife Kirandeep Kaur, father Tarsem Singh and mother for nearly an hour. Kirandeep Kaur was questioned at Jallupur Kheda village in connection with alleged foreign funding for the activities of Amritpal Singh, according to sources.
Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh switched cars, changed his clothes and turban, then took a motorcycle to escape, police said.

Amritpal Singh married Kirandeep Kaur, an NRI from the UK, in February this year, according to media reports.
After her marriage to Amritpal in February, Kirandeep Kaur moved to Punjab and now resides in Amritpal's ancestral village, Jallupur Kheda. Kirandeep's family roots are said to be in Jalandhar.

Kirandeep and Amritpal's wedding took place months after he took over as the head of Waris Punjab De, the outfit formed by actor-activist Deep Sidhu.
Kirandeep Kaur, who is an NRI from the UK, is being questioned by Punjab Police over foreign funding of Amritpal Singh's activities.
PROBE INTO THE MONEY TRAIL
The police officials are, however, tight-lipped about the outcome of the hour-long questioning.
No money trail has been established so far except the facts which came to light after the questioning of Diljit Kalsi, an aide of Amritpal Singh. The Khalistani leader is believed to have received nearly Rs 35 crore from various foreign sources.

Punjab Police is also scanning the bank accounts of Amritpal, his wife, father and other relatives to trace the funding mechanism, said sources.
Police investigation has revealed that Amritpal Singh purchased new SUVs for himself and his men by spending the money received from foreign sources.
Amritpal had also purchased 35 bulletproof jackets besides illegal arms from the money received through foreign Khalistani sympathisers. Security agencies are also trying to establish his alleged links with Pakistan's spy agency ISI.
Amritpal Singh has close links with the ISI, official sources told India Today. He was asked to bring young Sikhs under his group in order to destabilise the law and order situation in Punjab, sources said.
